Mambo ComponentMambo-SMF ForumThis is new Mambo-SMF Forum. Old main functions and logics that came from the original SMF-Bridge are now discarded. All original codes. And finally a true bridge! Before we continue introducing more new features, we decided to re-engineer all the key functions. If we don't do this on the early stage, this component will end up just like those other fine softwares with horrible engineering due to cut-and-paste codes. All the key functions are now called directly from the respective Mambo and SMF functions. This means easier maintainance and more secure integration.

Highlights:
  1. Straight-forward installation!
  2. Simple implementation!
  3. Works with Mambo default login module.
  4. Works with Community Builder login module.
  5. Syncronize Mambo and SMF users by just click of a mouse on initial installation. (and more...)
Demo Site: SquareSite.com and of course this site.

Complete List of Enhancements:
  1. Works with SEF/non-SEF/wrapped/unwrapped
  2. If it's not existing in SMF, existing user in Mambo are automatically created in SMF during login. And vise versa.
  3. Users can login from both SMF and Mambo page.
  4. Hide/show SMF members email in component configuration. (by default, it's always hidden on syncronization).
  5. Redirect SMF profile link to CB profile page in component configuration. (config shown if CB is installed).
  6. No need for MOS_SMF.php.
  7. No need to update SMF action arrays in the component.
  8. No more cut-and-paste code from SMF and Mambo.
  9. Login, logout, register, lost password, and update profile are called directly from the respective Mambo and SMF functions.
  10. Plus couple of bug-fixes raised from version 1.2.0.
Upgrade Instruction:
  1. Uninstall mod_smf_login module.
  2. Uninstall Mambo-SMF Forum component.
  3. In SMF Package Manager, uninstall SMF-Mambo mod.
Installation Instruction:
  1. Download SMF from simplemachines.org.
  2. Install SMF on the same database as Mambo.
  3. Install Mambo-SMF Forum component.
  4. In SMF Package Manager, install SMF-Mambo mod.
  5. Configure the component. All Installation checklist items must be marked "installed" or "done".
What About The Mambo-SMF Login Module?

This module is now optional. If you still want to use this login module, please download version 1.3.

Hiding SMF Login Form:

Most people are asking this as a feature, but this can be easily removed by editing the SMF template. From SMF admin, quick login form can also be hidden.
