For those new to Mambo, we know that you may get overwhelmed by the
number of available add-ons for Mambo. There's a lot of components
out there and most of them are not really for functional use, but just to
make your site confusing with loads of uneccessary features. To help you, we compiled the
essentials list to run a good Mambo website.
Forum
- Mambo-SMF Integration
- of course, we recommend this component. This component integrates SMF
forum to Mambo. It's very easy to install. SMF is one the full-featured
forum softwares out there. If
you are familiar with phpBB, SMF is just like one.
- Simpleboard -
Simpleboard Forum Component for the
Mambo Open Source CMS framework;
Simpleboard is thé integrated Forum solution for Mambo Open Source. The
administarion backend is fully integrated, native ACL implemented and
is extremely configurable. (It's built for Mambo but as the name says, it's just simple. Not
feature-rich like SMF or phpBB)
Gallery
- Zoom Media Gallery - zOOm Media Gallery is the most comprehensive, feature-packed gallery
system for the Mambo CMS. Continuously improved - features added, very
user-friendy, speedy and easy-to-use. Have fun using zOOm Media Gallery!
Statistics
- TFSforMambo - TFSforMAMBO is a real-time web site statistics package fully integrated
in the backend of MAMBO based on the orginal TFS script.
You can measure unlimited number of pages of your web site. It is invisible and FREE.
Extras
- Remository - Remository, flexible and user friendly file repository component for Mambo systems.
- Shout-It
- Allows a visitor to your website to leave messages easily and quickly
aka Chatbox/Shoutbox. This component supports emoticons, ability to
Bold Italic Underline and Link text, AutoRefresh, 2 Mode: Public and
Registered, Auto prune old shouts and MORE!
- FlashChat - Put a highly customizable chatroom right on your
website. Works with most PHP/MySQL forums and portals, or as a
stand-alone chatroom. Can be used in a live-support configuration, as a
"registered users only" chat, or as a "free-for-all" chat.
Reply with your own list of essentials.

Some other addons that I think that are popular or interesting enough to consider listing: [*]com_akolegal [*]com_designer [*]com_events [*]com_facileforms [*]com_glossary [*]com_mamml [*]Docman [*]mos_com_bookmarks [*]mosclearft [*]mosmarkdown [*]mostexttile [*]mod_akodonate [*]mod_bapaypal [*]sugarCRM | Newsletter/mailing list?
