URL file-access is disabled
« on: April 02, 2005, 03:55:56 AM »

Hi,

I installed the intergration package apparently successfully - installation checklist :

INSTALLATION CHECKLIST:
installed Install SMF Forum on the same database as Mambo.
installed Install mod_smf_login module and publish it.
installed Install SMFMamboMod.zip using your SMF Package Manager.
done Insert code to mambo template.

However on the same page as the above I am getting loads or errors :

Warning: fopen(): URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in /xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/administrator/components/com_smf/rdf.php on line 36

Warning: fread(): Length parameter must be greater than 0. in /xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/administrator/components/com_smf/rdf.php on line 66

Warning: fopen(http://www.mambohacks.com/news/mh_mambo_smf_update.rdf): failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in //xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/administrator/components/com_smf/rdf.php on line 36

Warning: fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/xxxx/administrator/components/com_smf/rdf.php on line 37

Both the Configuration and Registration tabs show up ok, but the User Manager and Language tabs are blank.

New users can register and are registered in both mambo and SMF but exisiting users do not appear in SMF, nor can they login.

Versions:

SMF 1.0.3
Mambo-SMF Integration version is 1.2.0-beta3
Mambo 4.5.2

Help !  Smiley

EDIT . PS Tried deleting the mambo cache files as suggested in another thread - same result.

EDIT 2. Tried resetting permissions to 777, now only get the "Warning: fread(): Length parameter must be greater than 0.", but still no 'User Manager' or 'Language'

It seems your server host disallowed getting remote pages with fopen. Let me see if there would be a work-around for you. One thing I can do for now is fix the code to filter that error.

For now, you can ignore that error. That's just a live channel feed from this site to inform users of the latest version. You can go ahead and try your forum.

Hi!

Thanks for the quick reply. I did a google on the fopen error - 217,000 results of pages showing that error  Grin seems its quite common.

There's still nothing showing on the User Manager tab though - I assume this is where you can transfer mambo accounts through to SMF ?

I still have the situation where users who existed prior to installing SMF/integration do not exist in the SMF user database.

Regards

go to the original SMF-Bridge project, there's script to add existing mambo users to SMF.
