getrdf causing admin system lockup
« on: August 13, 2005, 02:39:57 PM »

in /administrator/components/com_smf/admin.smf.php

there are 3 statements begining with :

if ($rdf->getRDF($url, 30))

that do latest version checking, anouncments and update feeds.

these are causing the mambo-smf config to lock up with no error message on my  remote server, everythings fine testing locally. i can only assume it's either file permissions or outgoing access has been blocked from the server for security.

when it happens it usually locks up the admin control pannel for a few minutes before letting me log back in again.

took a while to track that down, all seems to be working now it's comented out:(
