User Activation E-Mail problem...
« on: July 15, 2005, 06:28:47 AM »

Hi all,

I have a problem with the user registration. Sad If a user registers at my homepage, he get an e-mail with an activation-link. If he clicks this link, his profile will not activated. There appears the following message:
"Your account is not yet active. Please check your email and follow the instructions to complete the registration process."

The admin approval option is set to "no".

What could the problem be? Is there maybe an issue generating the activationcode?

I'am using Mambo 4.5.1, the CB-Enhanced component from mambome.com, SMF 1.0.5 and the Forum Component 1.3.1.3. The server is running under linux with apache.

Thanks a lot.

Greetz Al

Which activation are you referring to? SMF or Mambo?
You should leave SMF's activation to "immediate activation" and let Mambo handle activations.

Hiho Cowboy Wink

mambo handels the activation and registration. It worked fine up to the point I installed the "MamboMe CB Login v2.1".

So maybe, you can't help me, and this is the wrong forum Wink

I have the same trouble, with exactly the same config. (MamboMe CB, SMF, Mambo & Mambo_SMF). I have been searching out a solution and have yet to find one. If anybody discovers the problem, please post a message here.

Yeah, I solved the issue!

The solution was quite simple. I changed the settings of the Register_Globals Value to "On". If your provider dosen't change it, you can pimp your .htaccess file.

Insert the following line:

php_flag REGISTER_GLOBALS = ON

I hoped I remembered this line correctly Wink

So, this could help.  Cheesy

I added the following line to my .htaccess, will inform this board what happens. (The registration problem occurs only intermittently, and I cannot reproduce it).

The correct line is:
php_flag register_globals on

I think
