How to meet my design/integration objectives?
« on: July 14, 2005, 03:46:51 PM »

My installation looks like this:

  • Mambo 4.5.2.1 installed into public_html/
  • Copied SMF 1.0.3 into public_html/smf
  • SMFMamboMod_1.3.1b.zip
  • com_mambo_smf_forum_1.3.1.3.zip

My design objectives include:

  • SMF displayed ONLY within Mambo page.
  • A single login box on the Mambo page--i.e., none on the SMF.

I've read a LOT of posts about logon and password issues. But I can't infer whether what I want to do--have SMF display as a FEATURE only within my Mambo site with no logon of its own--is possible.

If the above is possible, how do I remove the SMF login box?

Provide for administration?

Prevent someone from entering a URL like www.mysite.com/smf and bringing up the SMF outside the Mambo environment?

Thanks,

MattQ

The design structure is just simple.

1. Mambo in the root directory of your domain
2. SMF in 1st level directory under your domain (e.g.: /smf)

if you don't want users directly going to /smf, add a piece of code in SMF's index.php that will redirect them to the mambo's forum page.
