INSTALLATION CHECKLIST: installed Install SMF Forum on the same database as Mambo. installed Install SMFMamboMod.zip using your SMF Package Manager. done Patch mambo index.php file. [verify] done Synchronize Mambo and SMF users.
All fresh installations of Mambo 4.5.2.2 and SMF 1.0.3 with the latest version of Mambo-SMF 1.3.1.2 ...
Installed the Mambo component ... Installed the SMF mod succesfully ...
Mambo is in the root directory and it cannot be made writeable in anyway. index.php cannot be patched and it seems that users are not syncronized either .
What is the modifications made to mambo's index.php? Can they be mabe manually? If yes, could you please provide the changes or kindly direct me to where I can find them?
Thank you Luke for pointing it out. I had tried that though, but then I got a single SMF entry page that is somehow totally reffering to mambohacks.com. I do not know if anyone else has tried to use this file, maybe they could sshare their experience or provide a hint
Unless of course I missed something along the way
Maybe if we could have the modifications required I could try to add them to the original index.php
At the danger of possibly sounding thick I am afraid I am totally missing something here ... The index.php available in the forum appears to be basically an SMF login page ... There are no mambo items on it ... Maybe because the initial thread (where the file is located) started because of login problems
If I am not mistaken the file that the SMF component is destined to patch is the mambo main "root" index.php file ...
Should I give up any hope of putting this on our server?
I hope someone could help .. Possibly attach an updated and patched Mambo 4.5.2.2 index.php?
