SMF is not yet installed???
« on: March 23, 2005, 08:47:24 PM »

Ok, I created a new sub-domain and started from scratch with the mambo and smf installations. All went well untill trying to configure the new 'com_mambo_smf_integration_1.1' component. For some reason it does not see SMF, 'SMF is not yet installed' ??

Any suggestions???

Same here!

I followed all of the instructions one by one. Got the same "SMF not installed.." error at the config page. I checked and rechecked everything, even did fresh install twice.

I installed Mambo by using Fantastico, and installed SMF manually (both latets versions.)

Please help!.

Thanks

You have to set the correct absolut SMF path in your configuration to detect whether SMF is installed.

You have to set the correct absolut SMF path in your configuration to detect whether SMF is installed.

See my post "yet another fatal..."

There must be a problem then with this, because when i try and set up the absolute path, the smf configuration tool doesn't allow it to stick, it will simply change it to what it thinks is the the correct path.  It doesn't want to save what I put in as absolute.

I have this same issue myself... I'm running on a local test server to try things out.

You have to set the correct absolut SMF path in your configuration to detect whether SMF is installed.

This is the actual address of my SMF site: http://www.akcaoglu.com/test/forum/

This is the path written on the configuration page (which I am unable to change):
/home/akcaogl/public_html/test/forum

This looks correct to me. However SMF is still not recognized.

Please check the permission of config.smf.php. It should be writable. Does it say it's writable on the component admin?

This is not the problem. I am having the same issue and it is definately 777. I remember Ortiso had the same issue, I don't remember what the fix was. I tried to edit the file manually but what are you using for the checkboxes? "true" ,"1", or 1? Not sure how mambo does it.

I believe the problem was that when the file was added with the mambo install, it was assigned as belonging to either NO USER or the SYSTEM... neither of which a standard user (in this case the site owner) has rights to change...

I just tested 1.1a twice. Check your SMF Path value on the config,
