When I go to the Mambo-SMF Forum Configuration page in Mambo I see the following
INSTALLATION CHECKLIST: installed Install SMF Forum on the same database as Mambo. not installed Install SMFMamboMod.zip using your SMF Package Manager. click to patch Patch mambo index.php file. [verify] done Synchronize Mambo and SMF users.
Your Mambo-SMF Integration version is 1.3.1 Latest Mambo-SMF Integration Version is 1.3.1
I have lost track on how many times that I have installed/uninstalled SMF in trying to integrate it with my Mambo 4.5.2 board. My latest attempt is with the Mambo-SMF Integration 1.2.0 package I found here.
1. SMF is definitely installed in the same MySQL database as my Mambo 4.5.2. I have verified this and my SMF 1.0.3 installation standalone at http://www.stuycentennial.org/forum.
2. I have followed the installation instructions for Mambo-SMF Integration 1.2.0 with no problems up until I go to configure the component.
Here I have the following problems:
SMF Database Prefix: smf_ (incorrect prefix)
INSTALLATION CHECKLIST: not installed Install SMF Forum on the same database as Mambo. not installed Install SMFMamboMod.zip using your SMF Package Manager. click to patch Patch mambo index.php file. [verify] done Synchronize Mambo and SMF users.
Your Mambo-SMF Integration version is 1.3.1 Latest Mambo-SMF Integration Version is 1.3.1
I have verified time and time again that 'smf_' is the correct prefix and the so called "not installed" items are definitely installed. The Mambo components are clearly visible under Components and Site Modules respectively.
In the Mambo Admin page, under Mambo-SMF Forum configuration, the module is reporting back that the SMF Database Prefix: "smf_" is the incorrect prefix. I've checked and the prefix is correct. Also, under the Installation Checklist it is reporting:
not installed Install SMF Forum on the same database as Mambo. not installed Install SMFMamboMod.zip using your SMF Package Manager. click to patch Patch mambo index.php file. [verify] done Synchronize Mambo and SMF users.
SMF is definitely installed in the one and only MySQL database I have running that database also contains my Mambo installation with the default Mambo prefix.
Also, when I go to uninstall the component it does not appear to be un-installing completely although I get no error. I notice the problem when I again try to install and I get an error saying htere is already a component using the smf directory. I have to manually delete to get the component to re-install and I still have the same problem.
I checked the FAQ and I believe that I have followed it to the letter.
At one point my SMF and Mambo were linked with another bridge component that I had found on sourceforge but I had problem logging in/out and getting blank screens. I switched to your component yesterday and eleted my SMF and re-installed it based and reccomendations I had received from another Mambo site.
Initially, the Mambo-SMF component configuration page had no problem with my SMF database prefix and showed SMFMamboMod.zip as installed but did not show SMF Forum on the same database. As I have said, I have only the one MySQL database and SMF is definitel installed and the prefixes are definitely correct.
When I could not get my first attempt to work I completely deleted and re-installed SMF again. That's when I could no longer detect the correct SMF database prefix nor could I detect SMFMamboMod.zip as installed although it definitely is.
I have deleted and re-installed the component on Mambo several times.
I really don't what else to do. I have spent two weeks populating content on my Mambo site and had hoped to launch this weekend. Now I'm forced with either deleting my Mambo and losing all the work I have done or scrapping using your component and/or SMF.
