Error when loading page for the first time in a session
« on: May 05, 2005, 07:24:28 AM »

The error is this:

Internet Explorer (in spanish, sorry):
Code:

<b>Warning</b>:  ob_start(): output handler 'ob_gzhandler' cannot be used after 'URL-Rewriter' in <b>/home...

Mozilla Firefox
Code:
Warning: ob_start(): output handler 'ob_gzhandler' cannot be used after 'URL-Rewriter' in /home/deejay/public_html/includes/mambo.php on line 2601

Firstly I installed version 1.3.0, i saw the error message and i didn't consider it to be important, i thought it was a server error, but this morning i upgraded to 1.3.1 and i got the same error. It's only displayed the first time the page loads, then everything works fine, without any error.

Using Linux, apache, PHP 4.3.9, MySQL 4.0.22-standard on the server, mambo 4.5.2.1, smf 1.0.3, mambo-smf 1.3.1.

My web site is www.deejaystation.com

Can you try disabling GZIP compression in Mambo Global Configuration?

That solves the problem, but is it the only way? My web loads faster with gzip enabled, i guess. Is it possible to fix the problem with other methods?

Thanks

You're right, supposed to be, GZIP enabled will make the page load faster but in my own experience, I don't really notice any improvements.

But don't worry, i have this issue on my bug to fix list.

Hi there.   I just installed SMF and the bridge today and I get a similar error message when starting a new session in IE:

<b>Warning</b>:  ob_start(): output handler 'ob_gzhandler' cannot be used after 'URL-Rewriter' in <b>/home/banta/public_html/includes/mambo.php</b> on line <b>2454</b><br />

Has this problem not been solved yet after 3 months?  I am using the latest versions of everything.   I really would prefer  to have gzip enabled at  all times.  This issue mars the component.
