Documentation question (quoted here)
« on: April 18, 2005, 12:46:49 AM »

I just installed the latest Mambo and SMF and am seeking to integrate them, so I downloaded the latest "Mambo-SMF Integration v1.2.0-Final."  I don't quite follow the docs:

"1. Install Mambo-SMF Integration component.

2. Install mod_smf_login module. When you publish, open to
module parameters then save. If you just publish by just
clicking the "x" mark on the module list, you won't be
able the see the login links.

3. In SMF Package Manager, install SMF-Mambo Integration mod.
Just follow the screen instructions from the mod."

How does step 1 differ from step 2?  "When you publish?"  What - every time a news story is posted?  Can anyone expand on these?  Thanks.

1 is the component, and 2 is the login module. And what do you mean expand about the stories?

Thanks.

I keep getting this error when I try to upload:

/home/mydir/www/MamboSMFIntegration_1.2.0_final/com_mambo_smf_integration_1.2/com_mambo_smf_integration_1.2.zip

into the Mambo component admin:

Upload component - Upload Failed
Unrecoverable error "PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10)"

Any ideas?   Thanks.

You need to unzip first  "Mambo-SMF Integration v1.2.0-Final." . You will see 3 files.....

Install the Mambo-SMF Integration component.

Install the mod_smf_login module

In SMF Package Manager, install SMF-Mambo Integration mod.

follow the rest of the instructions

Thanks...  As you can see in the post preceeding your response, I was in the process of instsalling the Mambo-SMF Integration component when I got that zip error.  I unpacked the original download and it unpacked the three .zips you spoke of.  As I used Mambo's component admin to point to the Mambo-SMF Integration file ("com_mambo_smf_integration_1.2.zip"), I experienced this error:

Upload component - Upload Failed
Unrecoverable error "PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10)"

Any ideas what the issue might be?  I can 'unzip' the archive on the command line just fine - does not seem a corrupted .zip.  Thanks.

The problem is in your server zip function, since it cannot extract the zip files into itself.

Are you able to install modules and components normally without any errors ?
