No. because mambo, by default, display's username and smf displays real name. Use the Who's Online Addon Extensions.

Yes this is very simple for programmers. I can tell you if I just have access to the code right now. You may wanna look at login.php. But the question is, why you want to do that. I'm just wondering, maybe you're just wasting your time.

edit mod_recent_topics.php in the modules path of mambo and edit the HREF's and add... target="_blank".

Go to module admin and create a new module. Paste the code there and assig where you want that module to appear.

Maybe you can try uninstalling the SMF mod, then install it again. You should not get any failure. This makes sure that all the necessary files are moded.
