1  Mambo 3rd Party Addon Hacks / Template Hacks / shared templates on: April 30, 2005, 05:55:12 PM
I think one of the next steps in Mambo/SMF integration, now that the code is all tidied up and going great, would be to dramatically extend the way the designs are integrated. One way to do this could be to create a template for SMF which is completely dependent on the Mambo theme's template, which of course would have to be adapted. But anyhow, yeah, so the aim could be a shared stylesheet, as well as shared images, etc, and basically sharing template parts wherever possible, to create a single, basic Mambo/SMF theme which could act as a starting point for others.?
2  Mambo 3rd Party Addon Hacks / Module Hacks / SMF Pathway module on: April 06, 2005, 12:29:48 PM
Hi, this is probably a big job, as (to my knowledge) there isn't any existing ssi function to do it. What I was wondering was if anyone was interested in making a pathway module for SMF, which could replace the cascading 'folder' type navigation in SMF, and replace it with something similar to Mambo's navigation pathway feature. It would be a great feature to have, and I think it would significantly further the efforts to fully intgrate SMF into Mambo

I've encountered the same error when I've tried to set a skin for an individual forum. Unless anyone knows differently, I'm assuming that the Mambo_SMF integration will only work with a single template set as default over the whole SMF installation?

I have a pretty standard integration of SMF 1.02 and Mambo 4.5.1a, using your Mambo Integration component. In addition to this, I've got an extra installation of SMF 1.02 on the same database, which shares members, membergroups, and instant message tables, as per: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=16190.0;all . As the article says, I've simply done this by hacking all of the files in the sources directory, and changing the database prefix for the relevant tables. I've been using this setup for a while now, and the members, member groups and messages appear to be shared well, and generally the setup works fine.

What I was wondering, however, is whether it would be possible to install your mambo integration component a second time, so that both of my smf installations would be be able to work within the Mambo template.

Hope that clears it up, and thanks.

Yeah, I understand it's not designed to do this, but do you have any idea how easy it would be to hack it?

Hi, I've got two installations of SMF which share a common user table. One of these is already integrated with mambo, how would I go about installing your component a second time round for a second forum?
