Title: Mambo-SMF 1.3.2 Beta 1 For SMF 1.1 : Questions about upgrade Post by: Paul Srch on August 05, 2005, 10:16:12 AM Before I begin upgrading my forum and Mambo installation I wanted to check some things out that I saw on the upgrade instructions.
1. The steps in upgrading are to (1) uninstall the mod_smf_login module, (2) uninstall the Mambo component, and (3) uninstall the SMF-Mambo package. Question: Is this the best time to actually do the upgrade to the forum itself, after everything is clean? (4) (re)install the component (5) (re)install the package. 2. Second question - the upgrade instructions don't say when to reinstall the login module - in fact, they don't mention reinstalling it at all. Would I just reinstall the module from the current version? Or does the login module not work with the new version of SMF? or what? Just want to be sure I know what I'm doing before I smack my system ;D Title: Re: Mambo-SMF 1.3.2 Beta 1 For SMF 1.1 : Questions about upgrade Post by: cowboy on August 05, 2005, 11:19:40 AM You don't have to uninstall the login module.
But if you do want to upgrade, I suggest you test it first. Because we have not really fully tested it. You can check the demo site though, which seems to be running ok. I guess I would suggest to you to stay with the current stable version you have.
