Title: Can't seem to install package.
Post by: Dustin on July 01, 2005, 11:59:06 AM
Installations actions for "SMF-Mambo Integration":
Installing this package will perform the following actions:
Type Action Description
1. Execute Modification ./index.php Test failed
2. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/script.js Test successful
3. Execute Modification ./Sources/Post.php Test failed
4. Execute Modification ./Sources/Subs-Post.php Test failed
5. Execute Modification ./Sources/Profile.php Test failed
6. Execute Modification ./Sources/Subs.php Test successful
7. Execute Modification ./Sources/LogInOut.php Test successful
8. Execute Modification ./Sources/QueryString.php Test successful

I did a fresh install of the newest version of smf, and grabbed the newest beta of the bridge. Its a windows 2003 server, all the files are correctly set with the right permissions. i was looking at the scipt that edits them, and what it searches for isnt in them

Almost the same problem here  :'(

1. Execute Modification ./index.php  Test failed
2. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/script.js Test successful
3. Execute Modification ./Sources/Post.php Test failed
4. Execute Modification ./Sources/Subs-Post.php Test failed
5. Execute Modification ./Sources/Profile.php Test failed
6. Execute Modification ./Sources/Subs.php Test failed
7. Execute Modification ./Sources/LogInOut.php Test successful
8. Execute Modification ./Sources/QueryString.php Test successful

Does anybody have an idea how to fix this?

Thanks.

Same thing here.

I downloaded the 1.3.1.3 extracted the "SMFMamboMod_1.3.1b"
Installed smf
installed the component (Mambo 4.5.2 not that that matters to this smf problem)
tried to install the package
Get the warning and this output:
Type  Action  Description
1. Execute Modification ./index.php Test failed
2. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/script.js Test successful
3. Execute Modification ./Sources/Post.php Test failed
4. Execute Modification ./Sources/Subs-Post.php Test failed
5. Execute Modification ./Sources/Profile.php Test failed
6. Execute Modification ./Sources/Subs.php Test failed
7. Execute Modification ./Sources/LogInOut.php Test successful
8. Execute Modification ./Sources/QueryString.php Test successful

So here the question we all have, how can all the files in ./Sources be chmod 777 and yet some hav success and some fail?
If I could reach through my sh and choke my machine I would!

Please Help!

what do you mean which site you should run?

There's 2 version in SMF website... (1) 1.1 beta3 and (2) 1.0.5 (final release).

I suggest that you guys install 1.0.5 final release for now.

Hi,

I want to install des actual SMFMod for SMF 1.05. I set all the files to chhmod but during the installation i got the following error:

Code:
2: copy(/www/htdocs/web/smf/Themes/default/script.js~) [<a href='http://www.php.net/function.copy'>function.copy</a>]: failed to create stream: Permission denied
Datei: /www/htdocs/web/smf/Sources/Subs-Package.php

Just set all the file to writable including SMF root directory. Then set it back to unwritable if you want.

Ok, Thanks

It seems the problem is the unwritable root. So I have to call my Hoster that he sets the root to chmod 777. Which files must be writeable after the the installation and which files and directories can set to chmod 644 for example.

thx Bastain

Well everything is actually needed to be writable if you will use the Package Manager for making SMF updates and installing mods. It all depends on the mod on which files will be modified.

I guess next time, just don't install it in the root so the root remains unwritable.

Hi,

thanks for answering.

On my website, the SMF-mambo MOD works only if the whole root is writable.

Maybe you can change that in an upcoming version?

Many Thanks
Bastian
