Title: smf theme installation
Post by: Marticus on June 10, 2005, 02:30:44 PM
Is there a special process for installing new smf themes without having them break mambo layouts? I have tried a few different themes and the browser spews forth messages about headers cannot be set after the document was already loaded or something like that. If smf themes usually work out of the box, then there is something really screwy going on. One theme in particular that caught my eye is nesianstyles BlackDay http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=36915.0  If you don't understand my error summary, let me know and I will load the theme once more for you to experience first hand.

they will always break the mambo layout because SMF theme is not really designed to be wrapped inside mambo. You need to edit the SMF theme CSS to make it fit better.

But can you elaborate more bout the error message you were getting?

What if you remove all right and left modules in Mambo, so the SMF forum (wrapped) is allotted the entire width of the screen.

Is it then fair to say SMF themes should work "out of the box"?
