1  MamboHacks.com / Mambo-SMF Forum 1.3.0 Support / Problem with private message on: July 25, 2005, 05:45:50 AM
Hi everybody,

I have installed the SMF Forum and everything works fine. But I have one problem left. If a user want to send a private message and click on the \\\"send private message\\\" button, so he puts the username between 2x\\\". For example \\\"username\\\". In this format the forum said that no user is found with that username. Now you have to remove the \\\" manually.

And now it works fine.

Why he put the username between 2\\\" like \\\"username\\\"?

And how can I solve this problem?

Any ideas?

Many thanks
Bastian

Yes...

I've checked and its not a problem to use RSS for SMF.
But in that kind of way I lose the integrated forum function.

If I use the normal RSS function from SMF and someone clicks on that feed, than the forum is open up by himself. Without mambo. But I want, that the forum opens inside Mambo.

I don't want to lose your nice hack for mambo... ;-)

Hi,

thanks for answering.

On my website, the SMF-mambo MOD works only if the whole root is writable.

Maybe you can change that in an upcoming version?

Many Thanks

Hi,

I have some trouble to install the MOD beacause I can't set the root directory to 777, so  I have some Permission problemes during the installation process.

Can anyone post a solution that I can patch the files manually?

That would be great....

Thx Bastian

Ok, Thanks

It seems the problem is the unwritable root. So I have to call my Hoster that he sets the root to chmod 777. Which files must be writeable after the the installation and which files and directories can set to chmod 644 for example.

thx Bastain
