I haven't really figured out when it apears, but to me it also appears it has to do with session lengths (or Cookie expire times)
For problem 3 I removed the 'logon forever' checkbox cause the Mambo-SMF logon module does not logon mambo as login forever though it does for SMF.
Another problem (which I think is closely related) I have is that when I logon to SMF (or mambo for that matter) when it's wrapped in mambo and open up another browser, the mambo will be logged on, but smf won't (it doesn't read/find the cookie). When I open SMF unwrapped it IS logged on (I want to add that the forum folder is NOT in the root, our website is still underconstruction and runs in /mambo and the forum is a subfolder off that, so /mambo/forum. I see that the cookie is written to /forum, so I hope that this is solved when I move the site to the root)
Cheers,
Danee

Thanks for your answer. I already looked into the Who's online module and I can easily change that, but it's not just the Who's online module. All modules I've seen so far use the username instead of the displayname. In my opinion they should all display the displayname since that one can hold special characters and the username can't (We're a gaming community, visitors like to add special characters to their tags/nicks )
But anyway, I could do 2 things here. Change all mambo modules that display the username instead of the displayname OR figure out if I can have the registration/DBsynchronise process swap the two fields between the databases.
Any advice for me?
Maybe it's a 'nice to have' feature for a future release of Mambo-SMF?
For our new gamingclan website I am using Mambo and SMF and obviously use Mambo-SMF Forum. I am having a problem with how the userinfo is saved in the databases. It appears to me that the username and displayname fields are swapped if you compair the Mambo database with the SMF database.
I have made an account to test this, and made some screenshots: (At registration: name=displayname, username=username)
Here is how the mainpage looks after login in: All mambo components/modules use the username field from the mambodb. The loginmodule is Mambo-SMF Forum Login Module v.1.3.1a and that displays the displayname. Also, in the forum itself the displayname is always used:
