I doubt that I can help, but I'm sure it would useful to those who could to know what versions of mambo, smf, bridge, server software you are running.

The way I would do something like that is to go to the modules menu in the admin backend, and for each module that you don't want to appear with SMF unclick "All" in the "Menu Items Link(s)" and select only those modules where you do want to see them appear.

Kinda hard to explain, but take a look there and play a bit.

Doing that, I was able to have the right hand modules disappear when invoking SMF in wrapped mode.

3  Mambo 3rd Party Addon Hacks / Template Hacks / Re: smf templates that work in Firefox and Explorer when wrapped? on: September 20, 2005, 04:01:09 PM
fyi, looks like the template I'll be using is Oxygen by Bloc

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=31438.msg236752

I made a few little changes to it, but it seems to work well for my needs.

Does  this issue occurs on the 1.3.1.3? This site is still on 1.3.1.3 and I don't experience it here.

I have 1.3.1.3 and I don't see this behavior.

6  MamboHacks.com / Mambo-SMF Forum 1.3.0 Support / Re: SMF Database Prefix??? on: September 20, 2005, 03:39:04 PM
If you're figuring how what prefix you already set up, then
go to your smf forum and get into the Admin page.
find the "Edit Server Settings" under "Forum Configuration"
It's in there.

If you're just starting out and installing smf, then once you know your database name you can choose any prefix you want. The installation script for SMF will make the right table for you with the prefix you choose. I just use the default, i.e., "smf_"

I got the next beta coming out soon, this issue is fixed on beta 2.

quick question, do I need to upgrade smf from 1.0.5 to 1.1 beta3p to use your new beta 2?

thanks,

oh, I'm also using the hacked smf.php file posted by pestilence
http://www.mambohacks.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,0/expv,0/topic,301.msg2386#msg2386

maybe that will help?

oh, and one more variable, I'm using the community builder login module.

Do you have your Mambo-SMF Forum component configured?

Go to your mambo admin backend and take a look at your Mambo-SMF Forum compenent configuration.

I have "Always redirect to forum on login" set to "No" and it works okay for me.

10  MamboHacks.com / Mambo-SMF Forum 1.3.0 Support / links generated by smf don't work on: September 19, 2005, 09:45:53 PM
I'm having a recurring problem with smf.

The link generated by SMF when a user reports a post to a moderator has an extra "?" in it causing the link to fail. For example, this is report:

Code:
http://www.mysite.com/mambo/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=78&expv=0&?topic=24.msg84#msg84

instead of

Code:
http://www.mysite.com/mambo/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=78&expv=0&topic=24.msg84#msg84

I've seen this error occur not only with the report post to moderator function, but also with others that are sent by email.

any ideas where I can fix this???

thanks!

11  Mambo 3rd Party Addon Hacks / Template Hacks / Re: smf templates that work in Firefox and Explorer when wrapped? on: September 16, 2005, 03:07:26 PM
You can change the box sizes in Apollo by altering the percentages in the index.template.php file in your theme folder.

Thanks, I tried that, but then it's not wide enough in Firefox or Safari. Seems like there ought be a another fix. The other tables/boxes in Apollo are pretty much the same in different browsers.

guess, I'm going to have to learn css -- LOL!
12  MamboHacks.com / Mambo-SMF Forum 1.3.0 Support / Re: template error with SMF-MAMBO Intergration on: September 14, 2005, 08:51:44 AM
one of my users has just reported the same error msg
I'm using the apollo theme, wrapped.

more info:
I was able to reproduce the error by selecting another theme as a user, and then logging out.
Quote
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare template_init() (previously declared in /var/www/html/smf/Sources/Load.php(1040) : eval()'d code:33) in /var/www/html/smf/Sources/Load.php(1040) : eval()'d code on line 30

when I refresh the page I get a quick message about a USER_AGENT and then the forum comes up in the default theme, but with a message
Quote
An Error Has Occurred!
Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again

If I refresh again, it will put me back to my mambo home page and I can re-enter the forum again okay.

I'm getting around this now by forcing all my users to use the default theme I've selected.

15  MamboHacks.com / Mambo-SMF Forum 1.3.0 Support / Re: Gallery2 issue and fix on: September 13, 2005, 05:26:59 PM
can you extrapolate on this one a bit more?

It's not really clear where and how to put the code in index.php... for me at least.

This is how I interpretted the instructions. In mambo's index.php file, look for
Quote
//MAMBOHACKS.COM
$_TMP = $_REQUEST;
if (file_exists($mosConfig_absolute_path."/administrator/components/com_smf/config.smf.php"))
        require_once ("administrator/components/com_smf/config.smf.php");
if (file_exists($smf_path."/SSI.php"))
        require_once ($smf_path."/SSI.php");
$_REQUEST = $_TMP;

and change it to

Quote
//MAMBOHACKS.COM
$_TMP = $_REQUEST;
$_TMP_GET = $_GET;
$_TMP_POST = $_POST;

if (file_exists($mosConfig_absolute_path."/administrator/components/com_smf/config.smf.php"))
        require_once ("administrator/components/com_smf/config.smf.php");
if (file_exists($smf_path."/SSI.php"))
        require_once ($smf_path."/SSI.php");
$_REQUEST = $_TMP;
$_GET = $_TMP_GET;
$_POST = $_TMP_POST;
