I installed the new version of SMF 1.1 and then version 1.3.2b of the mambo smf bridge on my development site for testing.  When I attempt to reply to a post, either logged in or not, the topic review is placed inside the textbox where the reply should be input.  I know this seems hard to understand, so it is probably better to venture on over to my development site.  I have posted a link to a post reply example.

any ideas on why this is occurring?
3  Mambo 3rd Party Addon Hacks / Module Hacks / Re: SMF Recent Topics module change on: August 18, 2005, 09:57:16 AM
My guess is that it is due to PHP 5.  However I didn't write the module, just the small permissions change.  I would start a thread in this forum detailing your problem with the information you have provided in this thread, and include any error messages you are seeing on the screen or in any log.

The whole modules isn't working or just the change I made?
5  Mambo 3rd Party Addon Hacks / Module Hacks / SMF Recent Topics module change on: August 13, 2005, 11:06:30 AM
I made a small change to the SMF Recent Topics module so that it checks to see if the user has the correct permissions to see the topic.  If the user does not have the correct permission then the topic is not displayed.  It is only a small change in the SQL that selects the topics to list.

I've tested the install, uninstall, and general use of it and everything is happy go lucky.   Grin
6  Mambo 3rd Party Addon Hacks / Module Hacks / Who's Online AE module change on: August 12, 2005, 08:23:50 PM
I made a change to the Who's Online Addon Extension to incorporate the color of a SMF user's group.  This change displays each user's name in the color that corresponds to the user's group similar to the member center at the bottom of the SMF forums.  This is a selectable option in the mambo module admin configuration screen.

Only issue I had was that I was unable to get the mouse-over help to work for this selectable option in the mambo admin, and I'm not sure why.  Some help on that?  Huh

I have tested this on a site with only SMF, not PMS, CB, or FC.  However, no changes were made to those sections of the code.

This is a great module Reggie and cowboy, thanks!  I am having one issue though... threads are being shown from the forums in which users/guests don't have permission, i.e. administrative forums.  Have you thought about incorporating this functionality into the module?

I figured out my issue.  I had set 'Default login cookies length(in minutes)' to 0 so that users would remain logged in forever.  This caused the issue I posted above.  By changing this value to anything besides 0 it resolved the problem.

I just installed 1.3.1.3(smf 1.0.5) and I have the same problem.  Here is what I am seeing:

1) If I login using the mambo login it *does not* log me into smf.

2) If I logout using mambo it *does* log me out of the smf.

3) If I login using smf it *does* log me into mambo BUT *does not* log me into the forums.  I must login using smf again to be logged into the forums.

4) If I logout using smf it *does* log me out of smf and mambo.

My users currently must login twice, once in mambo and once in smf regardless of where they first attempt to login.

My site is
http://www.themofoclan.com

I have a test user setup:
un:  test_user
pw:  test_user

Thanks for any help.

I thought about starting a new thread for this, but I will try here first.  I installed the latest optional login module (1.3.1a) and have been trying to use it.  However, the logout will not log me out of the forums, it just logs me out of mambo.  Here are the steps

1) Login using the optional login module
2) After successful login, select logout from the optional login module

This displays and error and the pathway changes to home -> upload media
Error states: "You are not authorized to view this resource.  You need to login."  If I look at the optional login module I see that I am still logged into smf but not mambo.

I went through and deleted all cookies from my site and cleared the cache.  I also verified that my live_site has the www. as suggested previously.  Nothing has worked to resolve this issue.

Things to note:
1) I have the user menu enabled with the mambo logout unpublished.  The reason is so I can have the upload media feature of the zoom media gallery available to registered users.
2) Upload media is the first item on the user menu.  It is not a coincidence that the pathway changes to home -> upload media when I select logout from the optional login module
3) If I select logout from the forum itself I am correctly logged out of both mambo and smf without an issue.
