No IIS. Apache.

Web Server:  Apache/1.3.29 (Unix)

Any other details I would be glad to provide. The quicker we can resolve this the better.

Much appreciative of your time & coding.

Don't know if this helps, but I saw in the other post that others saw SMF as version 1.0.0 even after the upgrade to 1.0.3. When I did the initial install of MSI 1.2.0, I did see it set to version 1.0.3. Now it's set to 1.0.0.

that version 1.0.0 is just a variable set to 1.0.0 ($version), i'm not worried about that.

the path to config.smf.php: /administrator/components/com_smf/

how is your forum behaving? does it work okay? do you have SEF enabled?

I just changed the path in the config file manually, and I can now login to the com config page. Here's what I get:

Permission Settings: All 4 set to 'is writeable.'
SMF Absolute Path: (incorrect path) /homepages/1/d109832938/htdocs/dsc136942053/administrator/components/com_smf/ 'Don't know what it should be.'
SMF Database Prefix:   smf_
Mambo Database Prefix:   mos_
Integration Option:  Wrapped
Existing SMF With User Data? Checked
IMPORTANT: Uncheck only if you are using this for a fresh SMF install!
Version Info: SMF is not yet installed or the SMF Path is incorrect.

Your Mambo-SMF Integration version is 1.2.0-beta3.
Latest Mambo-SMF Integration Version is 1.2.0-beta3

INSTALLATION CHECKLIST:
installed Install SMF Forum on the same database as Mambo.
installed Install mod_smf_login module and publish it.
not installed Install SMFMamboMod.zip using your SMF Package Manager. 'But when I look in the package Manager in SMF, it's there!'
done Insert code to mambo template.

-----------------

I tried SEF and no go. I keep getting Error 404. That's the next issue to tackle, since this is the main reason I made the switch. Currently it is off within Mambo.

Thanks for your responses.

More info...

I did some more thorough testing, and here's what I found:

1. I registered a new test user just fine. Got the email, and activated the account. Logged in to my site http://www.certifiedsecuritypro.com and created a new post. All went fine.
2. The user is listed in the Mambo User Manager
3. Apparently keeping the SMF Absolute Path: /homepages/1/d109832938/htdocs/dsc136942053/forum seems to allow the forum to work although I continue to get the Error 500.
4. SEF doesn't work and neither does dynamic titles. I may tackle this if we get the Error 500 worked out.

So currently I'm seeing no benefit to making the change from the SMF Bridge to this Integration. I still have high hopes, but I'm on a deadline to have a working site by tomorrow.

Can anyone getting this error pm me an access:
1. mambo admin
2. host access
3. db access
- and tell me the url.

I really don't know how to resolve this because I cannot re-create the error.

HERE's WHAT I GOT SO FAR:

Can you please all confirm if you are all on CGI mode? To find out, go to system-info and look for "WebServer to PHP interface:".

Apparently, preg_match() that returns a long string match cause error 500 on this mode. Now I'm looking at a workaround other than preg_match().
