We are currently rewriting the major logic of Mambo-SMF. The original bridge actually copied some codes from SMF and used it on the component. This logic actually makes maintenance of the code difficult when SMF releases new versions.

We've already succeeded on just calling the SMF codes, which would at least avoid maintenance trouble. And also will make possible security issues off this component.

This is now truly a bridge and the same approach can be implemented to phpBB forum.
