We undestand, I guess we will just publish a more detailed instruction with illustrations.
To find the Package Manager: You need to log as an admin in SMF, then click "admin". It will take you to the SMF administration page. You will find there the Package Manager.
Well you need to know CSS and HTML at this point now. Unless you want to post your code here and maybe someone might have a chance to take a look at it. I want to help you, but it's Friday. My friends will kill me for sticking my face in front of the computer again.
It doesn't matter which one you install first. Just to let you know, these won't really be integrated. It will just simply allow com builder login to work with smf. Because before, users using combuilder cannot login with SMF.
That line is added just to support the other modules. You can try removing that line and see what happens. Otherwise, we will just resolve this conflicts on the next official release.
But if you do want to upgrade, I suggest you test it first. Because we have not really fully tested it. You can check the demo site though, which seems to be running ok. I guess I would suggest to you to stay with the current stable version you have.
If it worked on your development box, the problem probably lies on the server or software version differences. I installed the latest version too on my other website, and didn't see any major problem. Or maybe I haven't encounter one. But this is the reason why we released this version as Beta.
Maybe I can figure out the issue if you post your url with a test account. I wish I could help now.
