1  MamboHacks.com / Mambo-SMF Forum 1.3.0 Support / Can registration send additional info? on: August 21, 2005, 06:15:44 AM
We're using the latest, non-beta of CB, SMF and Mambo.

I've added an extra text entry box for new user registration and it works well enough. That is, it shows up in the community builder information like it should.

I'm wondering if it's possible to get the text that registrants enter there sent via the admin notification e-mail as well? I'd imagine it's prolly a simple little hack somewhere, but I haven't a clue where to being to look to tell it to include that information as well.

Any tips?

Which ID's are you editing in which file?

If you can give some examples of what you're editing, I can (most likely) figure it out for my site. Smiley

Thanks for both tips Smiley

It's all fixed now and I'll look into the module.

So I know I can edit the footer in Mambo, because I've done it before (to include mention of my site's webhost).

Problem, I made a typo and now, for the life of me, can't remember which file the actual footer information is contained in. I'm so embarassed. LOL

If anything, this is a good lesson to make notes of what I do when I start "hacking away" at things.

Anyways, if anyone can point me to the right file so I can edit it and Mambo can present my pages with a typo free footer, I'd appreciate it. Smiley

And, in related news... does anyone know of any type of app (or module or component) that might help me in the future with such things. Let's say... I know what text is output by Mambo on my screen, but I can't remember WHERE in the world it is? Maybe some type of program that can sniff around the PHP to tell me which file to go edit. Thanks Smiley

Shannon, please let us know how that goes. I'm working with Nichlous on the site he's dealing with.

Hello to everyone!

I've spent quite a bit of time reading and trying to figure this out, but I'm stumped. So, here we go.

I've downloaded and installed Mambo-SMF Recent Topics Module v1.1. It's working just fine, but I'd like to make some changes.

When I open up the PHP file, I see that there's an excludeboards item mentioned, but I'm not 100% certain how to enter the appropriate information for the boards to be excluded.

Also, I'd like to modify it a bit to also include the first few characters (150 or so) of each message.

Even after MUCH reading, I just can't figure out how to do either of these. Can anyone steer me to the information or just tell me how to do it? Thanks!
