Title: smf templates that work in Firefox and Explorer when wrapped?
Post by: rpmilius on September 13, 2005, 01:14:43 PM
I'm looking for a nice, low key, easy to read smf template (prefer grayish) that displays properly in wrapped well mode in mambo in different browsers.

I've tried Apollo and Themis and each exhibits their own problems, especially with Explorer6. For example, the right few pixels of the posts in Themis are clipped off in Explorer. And in Apollo, the top two boxes are way too wide in Explorer, as if they were thinking they were in unwrapped.

And the default smf theme's title is way too big in Explorer.

Anyway, just looking a decent, clean theme that works with as many browsers as possible in wrapped mode.

thanks,
bob

You can change the box sizes in Apollo by altering the percentages in the index.template.php file in your theme folder.
Quote:
$topbox='<table width="90%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"

Thanks, I tried that, but then it's not wide enough in Firefox or Safari. Seems like there ought be a another fix. The other tables/boxes in Apollo are pretty much the same in different browsers.

guess, I'm going to have to learn css -- LOL!

fyi, looks like the template I'll be using is Oxygen by Bloc

I made a few little changes to it, but it seems to work well for my needs.
