Title: Module display problem in Mactopia
Post by: TheWraith on July 27, 2005, 01:45:04 PM
I have placed the custom login module I downloaded from mamboforge.net in my "user2" position of the Mactopia template from Mambodev.com.  The login module does not display properly.  See attached screenshot.  Sorry about the .bmp, "MS Paint" is the only graphical program I have installed on this PC!

http://htlcpraise.com

Mambo: 4.5.2.3
SMF: 1.0.5
Mambo-SMF Integration: 1.3.1.3
mod_smf_login:  1.3.1a

Additionally, I too have the "smf_" and (incorrect prefix) - but haven't had the chance to check my "configuration.php" file yet.  Also, my Mambo created users aren't able to log into the forum.  I get a "That username does not exist."

Thought I'd go through the install process again incase I missed anything.

Uninstalled SMF, deleted directory
Deleted SMF SQL database
Deleted SMF SQL user
Uninstalled SMF component
Uninstalled SMF login module

Created SMF SQL database
Created SMF SQL user (assigned necessary rights)

Installed SMF 1.0.5 from simplemachines.org
Installed SMF Package
Installed SMF Component
- Still get "smf_" prefix error, configuration.php has "www" in site name

Ran through SMF Component configuration:
INSTALLATION CHECKLIST:
not installed Install SMF Forum on the same database as Mambo.
installed Install SMFMamboMod.zip using your SMF Package Manager.
done Patch mambo index.php file.
[verify] done Synchronize Mambo and SMF users.

PROBLEM(s):

My Mambo users cannot log into the forum using their credentials.  Continually receive "That username does not exist."

One other problem:

When logging in using Mambo's build-in login module, I am automatically redirected to the forum AFTER logging in - even though my configuration is not set to do so:

Always redirect to forum on login: No

Why is it redirecting me to the forum?

Your checklist indicates that SMF is not installed in the same database. Mambo and SMF should be in the same database.

Ah, ok.  I wasn't aware of that.  I'll uninstall SMF, re-install.

Possible dumb question...

Do I choose "mos_" as the SMF prefix or "mos_smf_"?

Anything but "mos_". Because this will mix with the mos tables. And it will be hard to identify which are smf's tables.

I suggest just use "smf_".

I used, "mos_smf_" and things have been fine.

Going back to TheWraith's original post I too have problems displaying the SMF login module in the Macphoria template (www.jamoworks.com) it starts to dosplay the first part of the template and then it all goes pear shaped, maybe its a code error not sure, can someone look into this?
