Well make sure that the session.save.path in your php.ini exists in your system and is writable (it is a folder)

@cowboy, in fact mambo create a session cookie on server side in addition to the client side, when that directory is not writable (for some reason like it is not in ur include dir, or not well chmoded) you will suffer from limited connection time, crazy online members counter (i sometimes have for example 5 user, on mambo online user i can see 150 maybe more and no there isn't that number) when i changed that, i noticed that cookie won't end, and mambo online users module is a bit more close to the reality.....

i hope it will be the same to everyone else too

For everyone having the problem of cookie lifetime so small, please make sure your php session.save.path is in your include_dir and Writable
i've been fighting with it since my last post above and finally when i made the path writable problem solved!

Good luck

Hello,
how users can use the wireless mods? i mean if i try http://www.my-domain.tld/forum/index.php?wap2 member can't login,
P.S, i commented from Themes/theme_name/index.template.php the code that prints the login form and changed the login link to point toward mambo, but i thought wireless templates are different no? why they can't login?

11  MamboHacks.com / Mambo-SMF Forum 1.3.0 Support / activation link is broken when user change email on: June 05, 2005, 03:12:38 PM
Hello,
when a user change his email in SMF profile, his profile will be desactivated and he'll receive an activation email,
the activation link will look like this
http://www.siemens-mobiles.org/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=68&expv=0&?action=activate;u=XXX;code=XXXXXXX

while it must be
http://www.siemens-mobiles.org/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=68&expv=0&action=activate;u=XXX;code=XXXXXXX

note the ? before action!

thank cowboy, keep the good work

14  Techies Zone / How-To's / Re: How to make members use the Mambo front page? on: May 29, 2005, 07:29:32 AM
Gandalf,

My code snippet is for the wrapped mode which is the code being used in this forum. I don't know if your code is for unwrapped mode in which I haven't tried.
yes but you didn't understand me, if (for example) another site have a link to a post on the old unwrapped forum ( http://www.yoursite.com/forum/index.php?topic=1500.0 ) if he used your method, he will be reirected to Mambo Frontpage instead of the topic, means broken link,

i used it in diffrent way

this way, the above URL (http://www.yoursite.com/forum/index.php?topic=1500.0) will redirect the visitor to (  http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?option=com_smf&ItemId=28&topic=1500.0  ) so admin will not suffer from broken links
